Peruvian Highland Trek was officially founded as a travel agency in the imperial city of Cusco in 2002. Guided by the tireless efforts, deep commitment, and visionary leadership of our founder, Victoria Cjuiro T., the agency quickly grew to become one of the most respected and important tour operators in the Cusco region.
Over the years, we have continuously diversified our services. What began as a focused adventure trekking company has evolved into a comprehensive travel agency offering luxury leisure trips, community-based tourism, and highly specialized cultural immersions, all while maintaining our foundational promise of authenticity and excellence.

Peruvian Highland Trek works relentlessly to limit our environmental footprint. We practice strict "leave no trace" principles: we return all waste to Cusco for proper disposal, source local Peruvian products whenever possible, and actively avoid single-use plastics and non-recyclable materials.
True sustainability means working hand-in-hand with local people. We are proud to employ a permanent, highly trained team of local guides, cooks, and porters. By providing fair wages, continuous training, and direct community support, we help build awareness of ecosystem conservation and ensure that tourism benefits the families who call the highlands home.

Social Work in Andean Communities
Our vision of sustainability seeks to generate positive change in society by sharing knowledge and attitudes with our different stakeholders that encourage responsible citizenship.
We know that tourism products and services alone do not generate development. For this reason, Peruvian Highland Trek works together with the Kindness in a Box Foundation (USA), directly supporting the social work carried out by this organization in our community of Chinchero and its surrounding areas.
Our purpose is to help the Andean communities of Cusco strengthen their quality of life in the face of climate change, promote respect for their rights, and enhance education by integrating natural and cultural experiences into agriculture, agrotourism, and handicrafts.
Support Initiatives and Programs:

Educational and Nutritional Support: Distribution of school supplies at the beginning of the school year and school lunch programs in 5 vulnerable communities: Pongobamba, Koricancha, Huaypo Grande, and Huila Huila.

Vegetable Gardening Program: Teaching and hands-on cultivation with students in the large greenhouse of the Kindness in a Box Foundation.

Teen Program: A development space for more than 40 young people offering English classes, business fundamentals, cooking and painting workshops, and recreational activities at the Kindness Centers in the communities, with plans to expand to Yanacona.

Sports and Celebrations: Promotion of physical activity through athletics and soccer, as well as the annual Christmas celebration that brings together students from the 5 communities to share special moments and receive gifts.
New Volunteer Program
To make all these programs possible, we offer the opportunity to combine tourism with social action. You can contribute directly by bringing useful items in your luggage (gently used shoes, caps, jackets, toys, school supplies) and personally delivering them to children from the most vulnerable communities in Chinchero, Urubamba Province.
