Day by Day Journey

Day 1

Cusco – Huancacalle – Vitcos – Campsite

Day 1

Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco as we travel to Huancacalle, the gateway to the ancient region of Vilcabamba.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the archaeological site of Vitcos Rosaspata, one of the last administrative centers of the Inca Empire. We'll also explore Ñusta Hispana, a sacred ceremonial rock of great historical significance.

After lunch, we'll begin our hike to the first campsite while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Andes.

Day 2

Campsite – Asuntina Pass – Racachaca

Day 2

After breakfast, we'll begin the ascent to Asuntina Pass, located at over 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) above sea level, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Andean mountains.

During the hike, you'll pass high-altitude lakes, vast grasslands, and areas where llamas, alpacas, and native Andean birds can often be seen.

Later, we'll descend to the Racachaca campsite, where we'll enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 3

Racachaca – Vilcabamba – Lucma

Day 3

Today's trek descends into the beautiful valleys of Vilcabamba, where the landscape gradually transforms into lush vegetation.

Along the way, you'll pass small farming communities, coffee plantations, fruit orchards, and other local crops that thrive in this fertile region.

At the end of the day, we'll arrive in Lucma, where we'll set up camp for the night.

Day 4

Lucma – Llactapata – Hydroelectric Station – Aguas Calientes

Day 4

After breakfast, we'll follow ancient Inca trails to the archaeological site of Llactapata, where you'll enjoy a unique panoramic view of Machu Picchu from across the valley.

We'll then continue descending to the Hydroelectric Station, where we'll have lunch before walking alongside the railway tracks to Aguas Calientes.

Upon arrival, we'll check into our hotel and rest before visiting Machu Picchu the following morning.

Day 5

Machu Picchu – Cusco

Day 5

Early in the morning, we'll take the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu, where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the most important sectors of the citadel, including the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana Stone, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the impressive agricultural terraces.

After the guided tour, you'll have free time to continue exploring the sanctuary on your own or enjoy an optional hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain (advance reservation and availability required).

Finally, we'll return to Aguas Calientes to board the train to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco.
