Itinerary

Day by Day Journey

Day 1

Cusco – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata

Day 1

The adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco as we start our journey toward Manu National Park.

During the route, we will travel through the beautiful Andean landscapes, visit the ancient pre-Inca tombs of Ninamarca, and explore the charming colonial town of Paucartambo.

We will then descend into the Manu Cloud Forest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Peru. Here, we will take guided walks to observe orchids, giant ferns, tropical birds, and, with some luck, the famous Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru’s national bird.

At the end of the day, we will arrive in Pilcopata, where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a comfortable lodge.

Day 2

Pilcopata – Puerto Atalaya – Madre de Dios River – Machuwasi Lake

Day 2

After breakfast, we will travel to Puerto Atalaya, where we will board a boat to navigate along the Madre de Dios River.

During the boat ride, you may observe turtles, water birds, capybaras, monkeys, and a great variety of Amazon wildlife.

Later, we will visit Machuwasi Lake, where we will explore a floating platform to observe birds, monkeys, and other species that inhabit this unique ecosystem.

At night, we will enjoy a guided night walk to discover insects, amphibians, and other creatures that become active after sunset.

After the activity, we will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 3

Parrot Clay Lick – Cusco

Day 3

Early in the morning, we will visit a parrot clay lick, where different species of parrots and small macaws gather every morning to consume the minerals found in the clay, creating an incredible natural spectacle.

After breakfast, we will begin our return journey to Cusco, enjoying once again the beautiful landscapes of the cloud forest and the Andes.

We expect to arrive in Cusco approximately between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
